The 2024 CFMIP Meeting and CLIVAR Climate Dynamics Panel 4th Annual Workshop
2024 CFMIP Meeting on Clouds, Precipitation, Circulation, and Climate Sensitivity June 3-6, 2024 at Boston College, Boston, MA USA. The meeting is being held with the 4th annual workshop of the CLIVAR Climate Dynamics Panel.
This 4-day conference will focus on the following topics, considering process and climate studies, and models and observations across a range of scales:
• Convective organization: What controls the organization of shallow and deep convection, and what role does it play in weather and climate?
• Cloud processes: How do micro- to meso-scale processes control cloud phase, precipitation, and cloud-radiative effects?
• Clouds, circulation, and teleconnection: How do clouds couple to circulations and what role does this coupling play in large-scale climate?
• Tropical warming pattern formation mechanisms: What are the mechanisms for the tropical SST trend patterns?
• Climate feedbacks and sensitivity: How do clouds respond to external perturbations and what role does it play in climate change?
• Energy Imbalance: How do we measure and understand the factors controlling Earth’s energy imbalance?
The conference will consist of oral presentations, poster sessions, breakout group discussions, and social/networking events. The conference will be held in-person only.
Please use this google form to submit your abstract for the meeting (DEADLINE: March 1, 2024 @23:59 EST).
