The Southern Ocean Observing System (SOOS) Symposium 2023 will be organized from 14 to 18 August 2023 at Hobart, Australia.

The symposium will provide unique opportunities for discussions around the progress and challenges of the Southern Ocean community and beyond. The inaugural SOOS Symposium theme, "Southern Ocean in a Changing World", recognizes the vital role of the Southern Ocean in the Earth system. Call for abstracts for oral or poster presentations is now open until 24 March 2023. 

Abstracts should be 500 words maximum. There are two presentation formats on offer at the SOOS 2023 Symposium, posters and oral presentations. You will be able to select a format that will suit you and your presentation.
