Di Zhang is a Staff Scientist at the International CLIVAR Project Office (ICPO), located in Qingdao, China. In her role at ICPO, she is responsible for science coordination and support, as well as communication and outreach. Prior to joining ICPO, Di had working experience on environmental issues at UNESCAP in the Republic of Korea, supporting research on air pollution, desertification and land degradation. At Lund University in Sweden, she worked in soil sampling and sorting for the Sweden Integrated Carbon Observation System (ICOS) as a research assistant.

Di holds a master’s degree in Meteorology from Uppsala University and a bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Science from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology.

Di is the main contact for the Global Synthesis and Observations Panel (GSOP), Climate Dynamics Panel (CDP), CLIVAR/GEWEX Monsoons Panel, and Tropical Basin Interaction Research Foci (TBI RF).
