Sutandra Singha
Dr. Sutandra Singha is a dedicated researcher specializing in climate change
vulnerability analysis and policy, sustainable development, and energy geopolitics,
particularly in the context of developing nations. She pursued her academic journey at
Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, from 2010 to 2022, where she earned her
Postgraduate degree in Geography, as well as her M.Phil. and Ph.D. in International
Studies with a focus on Climate Change.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Singha was awarded prestigious fellowships
from the Indian Government, including those from the Indian Council of Social
Science Research and University Grants Commission, alongside international
fellowships that supported her participation in academic events in Norway, Brazil,
Italy, Sri Lanka, Russia, and Germany. She has actively contributed research papers to
scholarly journals, book chapters, and to the geo-archive of the CLISEL Project under
the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program and the Swiss government.
In addition to her research, Dr. Singha has served on the advisory board of the
Scopus-indexed journal Geopolitics of Energy, published by the Canadian Energy
Research Institute (CERI), Alberta, and was an Expert Reviewer for the IPCC 6 th
Assessment Report (Chapter 18: Climate Resilient Development Pathways, SOD
WGII). She is also affiliated with the CLIVAR Early Career Scientists Network and
the Indo-Pacific Circle.
Dr. Singha worked as a Research Assistant (from August 2023 to August 2024), with
the Indian Council of Social Science Research under the Ministry of Education, Govt.
of India. Dr. Sutandra Singha aspires to be a distinguished researcher in the field of
climate change and wants to collaborate with researchers belonging to different parts
of the world.
